You can now move Victor Ortiz up near the front of the long line of challengers to face boxing’s top pound for pound champion Manny Pacquiao. On Wednesday morning, Bob Arum commented on how a formal apology by Golden Boy Promotions has opened the door for one particular fighter in their stable to have a potential showdown with Manny and that is Victor Ortiz. According to BoxingScene.com, Arum made the following comments:

“Well, you know, looking at Manny Pacquiao, Golden Boy has at least one fighter who, down the road, could factor into a fight with Manny Pacquiao, and that’s [WBC welterweight champion] Victor Ortiz.”
