Brandon ‘Bam Bam’ Rios (25- 0-1) is confident that Antonio Margarito(38-6-0) will be the man for the job of stopping Manny Pacquiao’s reign as ‘The Mexicutioner’. Rios who is scheduled to fight on November 13 against Omri Lowther (14-2-0) in the undercard of Pacquiao-Margarito in Arlington, Texas as a last minute replacement for the scrapped Kelly Pavlik-Brian Vera fight, has been helping out Margarito at Robert Garcia’s gym in Oxnard, California.

As promised, here is part 2 of my interview with ‘Bam Bam’ as he minced no words on his thoughts about Margarito’s upcoming fight next week against Pacquiao among other topics.

dSource – Let’s go back to Victor Ortiz; there seems to be animosity between you and him. Can you talk to us more about that?

Brandon Rios – Well right now, it’s very personal. It’s got nothing to do with girls, it’s got nothing to do with all that. It’s between me and him. It’s very personal so.. If the fight happens, then I’ll let it all out. But for now I want to keep everybody in suspense and not let them really know what it is about. They can talk all they want on what it’s really all about like ‘yo, Victor f**ked Brandon’s girlfriend or not,’ they can think whatever, but I’m saying right now it has nothing to do with a girl or anything like that. It’s very personal between me and him and if the fight ever happens I’m going to tell everybody what it’s really about. I’ll wait to let you guys know if the fight ever happens.

dSource – There are fans out there that haven’t really been paying attention to boxing recently who’ve only seen you in this 24/7 show. I want you to describe yourself as a fighter to those fans who don’t know who you are.

Brandon Rios – Basically, I’m an aggressive fighter. I’m a pressure fighter. I build momentum round by round as the fight go by my pace goes up and up and up and I throw different combinations. That’s what I do and that’s what I love to do. I love to trade and throw combinations, not just one or two punches, I throw three, four or five combination punches. So I’m just a very aggressive fighter. I try to make the other guy fold and make him feel pain that he’s never felt before. That’s what I do.

dSource – Kinda like Antonio Margarito himself.

Brandon Rios – Kinda like Margarito and all the great Mexican warriors out there. I’m kinda like them. That’s what I consider myself, and that’s what I love to do.

dSource – People have been saying that Manny will be too fast for Margarito; what can you say about that and how do you think Margarito will beat Manny?

Brandon Rios – Is Manny fast? Yes, I give him credit for that, but you know what, a fast man, you can break down a guy that’s fast. Just pressure his ass, use his long jab, use his jab, break down his quickness and just bang the shit out of him, that’s it. Pressure him and see if he breaks down to that pressure. That’s why I see Margarito’s going to jab him and jab him with the long reach he has and just bang the shit out of him and just put all that pressure on him and he won’t be able to handle it.

dSource – Can you make any predictions for the fight?

Brandon Rios – I see Margarito winning by knockout in the later rounds between the 8th round to the 12th round- one of those rounds. In the later rounds the knockout is coming. I think Pacquiao is going to get knocked out because Joshua Clottey almost knocked this guy out and he was barely touching him when he let his hands go. Margarito is not a Clottey. Margarito lets his hands go and he lets them go in different directions and he lets them go real powerful. So I see between the 8th and 12th round. I see a late round knockout.

dSource – Before we close this, do you have any messages to your fans and even your haters?

Brandon Rios – I just wanted to thank everybody since I came up; the Telefurtura channels and the Mexican channels on boxing. I just want to thank everybody that’s been watching me and supporting me. Thank you guys and one love right here all the time, everyday. And the people that hate me, keep hating me. I love it when you hate me because you love to hate me. And if you don’t hate me, you love me so it’s alright. They’re just jealous because they can’t do what we do. It’s okay, I’m glad that you’re watching me though when you’re hating me.
